Monday - Two, yes TWO, training runs Monday evening. Joined Jenika a
nd her group at 6pm for a training run and then at 6:30 met with my group. Had to keep moving since it was a cool and rainy evening. Once I got moving I was fine - always hard to get out of a warm car for a run when the weather isn't nice. Felt really exhausted after the runs, my calves were killing me...not sure why. Asleep early (really) to be ready to get up for spinning at 4:50
Tuesday - Freudian Slip Day - Alarm clock set for 4:50...but I woke up to the sound of our upstairs neighbor's alarm clock at 5:30am...totally missed spinning! It must have been my body telling me I needed a rest... I set the alarm but never turned it on...Freudian Slip. (I know, that's not what a Freudian Slip is, I'm just using the term loosely) I think it ended up being for the best, my calves were still killing me. Even though I might smell...I rubbed my BioFreeze hot/cold rub on my legs after my shower and took two Aleve. I felt a lot better on Wednesday AM, had a good swim.
Thursday - My usual run day, I got on the treadmill and there is now a "coach" that will help you through a workout. I decided to try it, I might be taking it too easy on myself and hiring a personal trainer like Jillian on the Biggest Loser would cost WAYYY TOOO MUCH. It ended up being a really good workout...I did do what the "coach" said and increased my speed and incline every time she said to. At one point I was running up a 6% incline, out of breath and working hard. It felt good to complete the "Fat Burning" workout. We'll see if I burned any fat!
Nice dinner with Mom, Dad, Jackie and Sharon (interested in our travel journals and blog) - I brought over some nice cheese that about a month ago, when I had gotten it, was probably really nice...but now it was all dry and crumbly. YUCK! We all finally left Mom and Dad's around 9:30-10pm...and I still had to pack for NYC and gym in the AM...got it done by 11pm and still made it to Tabata at 5:45.
Friday - 6:30pm to NYC. We leave pull out of the parking lot and then stop, a buzzer is going off at the driver's seat. Apparently he couldn't get the parking brake dis-engaged, but he could still drive the bus. We sat for about 20-30 minutes while the driver called the dispatcher for either a new bus or permission to drive this one anyway. He gets the go ahead to drive on and about 5 minutes after he starts moving again the buzzer stops buzzing and parking brake is fine. Something about air pressure having to build up...so we are good to go and get into NYC only about 10-15 minutes late. Note to self: Don't eat a Moe's salad on the bus...couldn't finish it and what I did eat just made me feel sick the rest of the ride.

Saturday - Cool, dreary day, hoping for a better day on Sunday -
Decorated our hats for Easter Parade, and even got to show the hats off via Skype. Shopping at Eataly on 23rd with mom for our Easter dinner. Nice selection of everything...including mushrooms. The place is
great...but it is PACKED to say the least, and very had to navigate with a wheel chair (and to take pictures). People are nice, if they see us with wheelchair. But, sometimes people are completely oblivious and walk into us. We plow through, saying excuse me of course, and get what we need, some nice veggies, veal shanks, ground beef, really nice San Daniele prosciutto sliced tissue paper thin and other good stuff. It is a nice place, but VERY expensive - $8.00 for some tomato sauce that we can get at the little Italian gourmet shop next to mom for $2.00, which is what we did. Made some meat sauce with the ground beef for mom to have in the freezer as a quick meal for dad when he comes over so she doesn't have to cook. Also cooked baby artichokes for dinner on Sunday.

Sunday - Easter Parade in NYC - What a great day...sunny and
warm...it was just perfect! We got up and got ourselves ready to go to St.Patrick's for 12pm mass. Mom really loves going to church and then strolling on 5th Ave and seeing all the crazy hats. It is fun, and this year we were going to have our own crazy hats...which after
seeing some of the hats, ours weren't all that bad. Feel free to do a google search on Easter Parade NYC 2011, and you'll see.

It was a lot of fun and a lot of
people stopped us to take pictures. I didn't bring my big camera, only a small disposable that we've had floating around FOREVER. I finally finished all the pictures - can't wait to see what's actually on it.

Mom and I walked through the park a bit and then back home, where I started on our dinner. No lamb this year, which was good since I really don't like lamb all that much. Shrimp cocktail to start. Osso
Buco, cooked until the meat was falling off the bone.
Asparagus, baby artichokes, roasted peanut potatoes (really tiny fingerlings), focaccia to soak up the juice from the osso buco, and of course salad. Mom had a great time, it was nice to see her smile. She enjoyed our time on 5th ave and loved dinner that she didn't have to cook or clean. I'm glad I could do it.
This week, doctors on Monday, presentation for 75 on Thursday, special training session on Saturday at MK and Tri on Sunday. I'm not living in a new culture or learning a new language - but busy, busy, busy!
