As one chapter ends, another begins

Every day I would try to take my lunch around 11:45, but on Monday, Rajan asked me to join him at 11:30. We walked up to the breakroom and there was a small line on the right side of the room. I couldn't see beyond the last few people in line and I headed to the refrigerator as I always do. As I pulled my lunch from the fridge I saw my supervisor, Greg, who virtually never takes lunch in the breakroom. As I turned back to the line, I thought about Rajan asking me up earlier than usual, and then with Greg there, it all starts to come together...there is a pizza and cake lunch in the breakroom just for me! I was surprised and delighted that everyone in my department was there- even those who don't normally eat in the breakroom. Greg got everyones attention and said some very kind words about me. I seized the moment to thank everyone who was there to wish me well. I was really touched by the outpouring of well wishes and questions about my future. I have been a supervisor at Transworld for several years and truly appreciated everyone that worked for me. Everyone was so supportive and I am glad to know that they thought so much of me. I was touched by the people that pulled me aside to tell me how much they enjoyed working for (or with) me and would miss me. I wish nothing but the best for everyone I worked with and want them to know they helped to make me who I am today. As I start a new era in my life, I can only hope I have the same impact on the people I will meet in the next phase of my life.
